NOTE: Whispering Waves, the first book of the Salt & Sea Series is available for pre-order, BUT I have to warn you!! This series is a bit darker of a romance than I usually write, because--I mean, duh!--it's pirates. They're brutes. The mermen are also bossy, mostly grumpy, and there IS mer/mer spicy *cough* in this book and mer/human in book 2+. So just beware... you've been warned, scallywags!
For centuries, the mers have lived beneath the Everealm seas, hidden from the surface world. But now something ancient has risen from The Deep—and the sea is no longer safe. Merfolk must make a decision: stay hidden or reveal themselves to fight the creatures threatening their kingdoms.
Maren is a mer princess with a plan to reunite the four pieces of the Tideheart--an ancient shellstone that gives all mers the ability to walk on land. Using her piece and gaining legs, she finds herself aboard a pirate ship and attempting to pass as human. It's too bad she's not the only person on the surface who knows about the Tideheart and wants her piece for themselves.
Pirate captain, Raff, has taken over the ship after his father is murdered on the main deck and the killer is still unknown. Upon finding a mysterious journal that speaks of a powerful shellstone, he wonders if this is what led to his father's death. Determined to finish what the late captain started, he begins his hunt while trying to keep his crew--and family--safe from the beasts lurking below.“Stuck.” Manny replied, nodding with a frown. “Can’t shift. Gnomes help.”
“Yes, you said that. You wanted to help the dragonites, so you abducted a princess—me—and you want me to what, exactly?”
“Break curse.”
